When submitting a footage request, there are three types or tiers of Stringrs to choose from:
Crowd
Select
Pro
Following is a quick overview so you can choose the right Stringr for your video needs. If you are ever in doubt, contact our 24/7 curation team at curation@stringr.com and they can help you create the right type of footage request.
CROWD
When to use: When you need footage as soon as possible or if you want multiple shots from a wider area. Crowd requests are sent to all available Stringrs in the area you select and are typically shot with a cell phone. Crowd is a great way to get footage when you don't have a crew available or need your team for higher profile stories.
Examples: B-roll, exterior shots, community events, weather, breaking news scenes.
SELECT
When to use: Select requests are assigned to one Stringr - chosen by our curation team because of their experience and because they have accessories that augment video stability and audio. Choose Select when you need a more detailed shot or have a list of questions to ask and want to ensure good quality audio.
Examples: MOS interviews, protests or crime scenes where you want a POV audio clip.
PRO
When to use: Pros assignments are only assigned to Stringrs who have been vetted and rated by our curation team. They pick a specific videographer with the right skills and equipment needed for your request. They have higher-end videography equipment including cameras, encoders, lights, mics and adapters (i.e. for a mult box). Pro is the only option when you want to request a live shot.
Examples: Interviews with high profile guests, press conferences, very detailed shoots, and footage in sensitive areas or where discretion or credentials are typically needed. Also, if you want need a live feed, choose Pro.
